Chev-Patrol 6.5 V8 D
Just wondering if anybody has had any experiences with this brand of battery? I'm in need of 2 new units for my camper trailer and these look okay on the surface of things.....

I think they should be fine Bill. I just fitted two RITAR AGMs that I got from ALCO
Batteries here in
Melbourne. They have much the same specs as yours.
I connected the DURST charger and they came up to float in about 5 minutes. Very pleased.

Why this particular battery?
Buying them off Ebay must equate to possible problems if you need a warrantee claim.
With delivery, you are up for $297 ea.
Compare this with the Remco brand available from Whitworth's Marine for $339. I know where I would prefer to get
mine from.
Remco is a known and proven brand.
Just tossing in an alternative for you to consider mate.

Yes mate..... I do things a bit rrrr's about sometimes, eh!!!???? hahaha
Since I bought these 2
batteries today, I've done some googling. They seem to be for sale for around $375- to $400- at other re-sellers, so my price of $253- seems pretty good.
BTW, the postage was only $44- for the 1st unit........ $22- for the 2nd one. So, all up $572 for the 2 of them.
I will be sure to let everyone know how they go.

Sorry Bill, forgot to address your idea.......
I HATE (with a passion) having to go to the big smoke. So, the idea of dropping in to a good battery place or Whitworth's Marine, just isn't on my agenda....
I do get Whitworth's cattle-dog every 6 months and have spent a few $$$$ there over the past couple of years....

The spin doctor theory works
well as people read 10 year design life in a standby situation and think you bloody beauty and at that low price.
That means mainly that are designed specifically for the main use of standby so as long as you do not use them you will be OK long life .
The warranty brings you back to reality why so small when they have shown with a 10 year design life.
Beacause they are not specifically design for continuous cycling.
Dont get me wrong its value for money and you will probably get a good life with low to moderate cycling but if the cycling is heavy then watch how quick they die once the warranty ends.
A lot of standby
batteries are sold under the same disguise.
